Gran Canaria has it all - breathtaking beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, lively seaside resorts crammed full of character and entertainment and whitewashed villages dotted across its mountainous interior.

Gran Canaria is part of the Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean about 70 miles off the coast of Morocco. The climate is sub tropical, offering year round sunshine and little variation in temperature.

By day souvenir shops and designer shops, by night the Yumbo buzzes when with numerous restaurants offering Canarian, Spanish, and international cuisine, drag shows and from midnight gay bars and nightclubs remaining open until around 6am.

Maspalomas
Neighbouring Maspalomas is a modern resort, located on the southern tip of Gran Canaria offers around 6 kilometres expanse of shimmering sands including the famous sand dunes. Stretching along the shore this protected area guarantees a secluded spot to tuck yourself away in.

The 6-kilometre expanse of golden sand, awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness, is fringed by crystal clear seas.

The Saharan-style sand dunes and gorgeous beach bring an instant exotic holiday feeling. The overwhelming vastness of the beach and dunes ensure that even in the height of summer, you can always find a secluded spot all to yourself. It is a long, hard walk across the dunes but you can always take the easier option and make the journey by camel.

Neighbouring Playa Del Ingles, located just two kilometres away can be reached with a walk over the dunes or by bus and taxi - with plentiful, reasonably priced public transport.
